Five-letter word helper
A Wordle-style helper: enter each guess, set the colours the game gave you, and see which words are left.

How the clues are read
Green means the letter is right and in the right place. Yellow means the letter is in the word but in another place. Grey means no unused copy of that letter is left in the word.
The helper replays your clues against every word in the list and keeps the words that would have given the same colours. That handles repeated letters correctly: guessing "speed" against "abide" gives one yellow e and one grey e.
How suggestions are ranked
With 400 words or fewer left, each candidate is tried against all the others and ranked by the expected number of words remaining. With more, words are ranked by how many remaining words share their letters. The note under the suggestions says which method was used.
Suggestions are always words that could still be the answer. A word that is not a possible answer can sometimes narrow the list faster, but this helper does not suggest those.
Word lists and other lengths
The list is a spell-checker list, so it holds more words than most games accept as answers and includes some they would reject as guesses. If no word fits, check the colours first.
The same logic works for 4, 6 and 7 letters and for Swedish. Choose the length and list at the top of the tool.
